I first fell in love with Paris went I study the Provencal Style in 80's.
The entire city had a feeling of luxury . The fabulous old houses I had always dreamed of inspired new design fantasies. I longed to lounge on a chaise wrapped in a silk robe, and writing letters on ivory stationery.
When I move to Franklin the charm of this town rekindled my Paris fantasy. I imagined sleeping not in a bedroom but in a boudoir, and having quant dinners not in a kitchen but in a café. I knew that I would not find the items for this theme in a conventional retail store because establish a real design is not having good taste but by years of study on design it self. Scouring flea markets, rummage /estate and auction, I found accents and furnishings that would build my Parisian indulgence. Some of these items had to have an extreme make over ,which involved period paint/finishes, repair, and complete re-design. However, from a vision from the past I ceated an house that recalls a bygone era when daily life was slower, and more luxurious and romantic.
The aesthetic is about meeting certain emotional needs like a friend or a lover. Your home should help you to relax, cheer you up, make you feel comfortable and cultivate your imagination.
Why come to a home as cold and sterile as the office you just left? When opulence is so achievable and affordable why not surround yourself with rich colors, sumptuous fabrics and vintage furniture.
Day to day life can intrudes on your fantasy in form of “Robot Technology” televisions, internet, testing, microwaves, etc. But, a little ingenuity can preserve a mood of sensuality. Even a tiny house can be become a jewelry box of personal treasures.Any house can transformed into an extension and expression of who you really are.
If you let yourself live among the beauriful things you've always pined for, you will feel like the goddess, movie star, or princess who lives deep inside you.
Making dreams come true!
